Services Rendered:

As Justice Of The Peace we render services to the public on Civil and Criminal cases.  Provide Magistration for defendants who have criminal charges pending against them.  I also perform wedding ceremonies.

Mission Statement:

To serve the citizens of Val Verde County with dignity, justice and respect as I have done this for the past 26 years.

Accomplishments:

Served the County Of Val Verde Pct 1 Constable for 18 years prior to replacing my father, the Honorable Felix R. Barrera Sr. as interim Justice of the Peace Pct 1 upon his retirement.  The in 2006, I was elected to Justice of the Peace pct 1.  I have attended numerous seminars relating to the position of Justice of the Peace and in March 2010, I was re-elected for another 4 year term.  It has been an honor for me to be serving you the citizens of Val Verde County for the past 26 years.
